Talking Partners

This speaking and listening intervention programme was developed in Bradford. By 2006, 66% of Hackney schools had received training and were running the programme. Each group of three students follows a structured 10 week course led by teachers, learning mentors or teaching assistants.

Data from Hackney schools shows that Talking Partners helps EAL students develop grammar and organisation of ideas. In class, teachers have noted a marked increase in confidence of students involved in the programme.
