Sustainable Schools in Hackney event at Hackney City Farm. – Monday 11th June 2007:

The Woodland Trust – register now for your free hedge or copse pack (containing 30 small native trees/shrubs). These packs will be delivered to schools in November 2007.

London School Environment Award 2007-08 – latest newsletter.

Groundwork East London’s Cool Climate project (October 2007-2010), will work with 3 secondary schools per year in Hackney; Includes funding, accredited film workshops, and enables young people to create their own project to teach their peers. Walk to School Week October 2007 is coming! – following the phenomenal success of Walk to School week in May (almost 2 million pupils took part) we are now counting down to International Walk to School October 2007. Celebrating the health benefits of walking to school and focussing on children enjoying their local environment.

London Sustainable Schools Forum – monthly e-bulletin includes details of events, competitions, funding opportunities, relevant news digest and quarterly workshops (training) – to register email sustainableschools@gol.gsi.gov.uk.

The Food For Life Partnership (revolutionising school meals and giving children the chance to grow and cook food, and visit organic farms) are seeking expressions of interest from schools with little or no track record in a whole school approach to Healthy Eating, who are interested in becoming Flagship Schools for school food in their region, deadline 28th September.
