Special Educational Needs and Information and Communication Technology
ICT is fundamental to curriculum access for children with SEN.
Children with SEN need to develop their computer skills and use computers to support their learning. However there may be barriers:
- Some children may have physical difficulties that prevent them using a mouse or keyboard
- Some children may not be interested in computers
- Some children have not yet developed the skills needed e.g. cause and effect, eye and hand coordination, attention
There are lots of websites offering advice, information and downloadable resources.
