Learning Support Units

The aim of the Primary Learning Support Units is to raise the attainment of those children who are currently underachieving. Each academic year, both PLSUs will work with a group often Year 6 children who have been identified as cognitively capable of reaching Level 4, in both literacy and numeracy, but are currently at risk of not doing so, due to emotional or behavioural difficulties.

It is a centre of excellence in teaching and learning and a model for positive behaviour management.

Behaviour

Blank behaviour tracking sheets - to help us track the behaviour of the children and recognise any patterns that may help us to improve the child's behaviour.

Heart charts - these encourage the children to appreciate acts of kindness and allow us to reward children for their thoughtful behaviour.

Star charts - which allow the children the opportunity to celebrate their and their classmates' successes.
