Year 1 - My Future: "Budding future" (Changing bodies)

Entry points
- To be visited by a
parent with a baby;
Activities
- Draw the baby and write a sentence about how its
mum looks after it;
- Sort pictures of humans into a timeline from
youngest to oldest;
- Recap work from ‘Myself’ and what jobs we want
to do. What will we look like? How will our bodies
change?;
- Circle time: Think about future in year 2. What do
they want to improve, what are they looking forward
to, scared about?;
- Draw around hands (on paper stars/under photos,
etc) write what they will improve in year 2 (can be
given to new teacher as they move up for display);
Outcomes
- Able to describe
features of a baby in
clear sentences;
- Able to talk about
how people change
as they get older;
- Learners can share
feelings with a group;
- Hands with target
written on them;
Resources
- Pictures of People from different ages
(Internet/magazines.)
