Year 1 - Myself: "I’m Great!" ( A book about me)

  • I can celebrate my talents and achievements and share them with a group;

Entry points
  • Sports day – personal bests

Activities

  • Children to participate in a range of sporting activities and record their achievements on a "personal bests" card. This activity will need to be done; again at the end of the unit for children to see their improvements;
  • Children to produce zones of relevance based on themselves and their lives;
  • Children compile a book with pictures and sentences linked to the zone of relevance, showing themselves, their families, their friends and their homes;
  • Circle time – celebrating their successes;
  • Children to write promises for themselves;
Outcomes
  • A record of sporting achievement;
  • A record showing progression in each sporting achievement;
  • An awareness of how practice leads to improvement;
  • A biography;
