Year 3 - My London: "London in Development" (Eco Issues)

Key Skills I can explain what the 'eco' issues are; I can explain how I would make adifference/change to the local eco issues; I can explain the effects of building the Olympic site; I know that events (Olympics) can be interpreted in different ways,

• Read 'Window' by Jeannie Baker;
  
• Olympic Site Visit – including re-cycling areas;
  
• Sorting 'rubbish' into recyclable and nonrecyclable;
  

Activities

• Read a variety of articles about the Olympics – classify in terms of for, against
  and balanced;
  
• Interview people in the local area about their views of the Olympic Games and the impact on the environment;
  
• Devise a visual text based on The Window showing a view over the Olympic Park;
  

• A visual text that demonstrates the effects of building the Olympics site;
  
• A piece of writing based on the interviews and research, expressing my opinions on the ecological impact of the Olympics;
