Year 3: "Strive and Succeed" (Setting Targets)

Key Skills

  • I can aim to achieve my best;
  • I can try to improve on my last performance;
  • I can work in a team;
  • I can produce a Carroll diagram;
  • I can interpret Carroll diagrams;
  • I can set myself targets based on findings

Activities
  • Children to participate in a range of sporting activities and record their achievements on a “personal bests” card;
  • Children to create a Carroll diagram based on themselves - easy/difficult: important/ not important eg playing the playstation, reading, being healthy, singing, road safety, spelling etc;
  • Children use their personal Carroll diagram to produce targets for development and to identify and celebrate their strengths
Outcomes
  • A record of sporting achievement;
  • A record showing progression in each sporting achievement;
  • An awareness of how practice leads to improvement
  • Personal Carroll diagrams;
  • Display of targets;
