Year 6 - My Olympic friends: "Is Anything Fair?" (Paralympics and Equality)

  • I can research and discuss whether separating ability or other factors (gender, race) is a necessary part of the Olympics (sports days);

  • Make contact with a paralympian for the children to interview;
  • Research the requirements for categorizing disabilities in the Olympic Games;
  • Plan and write an argument about equality in the Olympic and Paralympic games;

  • To be able to carry out a individual presentation on a paralympian of their choice;
  • To write a persuasive argument expressing my own opinions with evidence about equality in the Olympics/Paralympics;
  • To be able to debate about the equality in the Olympics/Paralympics;
