Promote your podcast

The last thing you need to do is create a podcast feed, a RSS file that includes title, description of your podcast, a link to the corresponding audio file, copyright and other information. Without this, listeners will not be able to find your podcast. You can create this file in a number of ways:
  • Do-It-Yourself way (you'll need to know XML, though);
  • Using the on-line podcast RSS feed generators (like TD scripts). After you've clicked the Create button, copy the code into the Notepad and save as .xml file;
  • Using the LGfL podcast system (the URL of the RSS feed is automatically produced when you create a channel;

Before you upload the podcast feed onto the server and promote it to the world, use a validation service such as the free RSS Validator to ensure your RSS feed is in proper working order. If there is an error, you'll have to correct the RSS feed and upload it again.

Here is the RSS feed template that can be adapted and used. It's a XML file that has already been validated, but please re-validate after you've edited. (Right click on the link to download and save the file. You can now open it in Notepad and edit it.)
