One to one tuition

The One to One Tuition Programme is a Government-funded initiative to help children gain more confidence and understanding in English and Maths. It is being rolled out nationally to pupils in Key Stages 2, 3 and 4.

The Learning Trust is implementing this programme over three years. In 2009/10, 29 Primary Schools and 6 Secondary Schools will participate in the programme.

This year 1040 pupils will be receiving personal tuition in either Mathematics or English for a series of 10 one hour sessions. In 20010/11 all schools will be able to offer one to one tuition. This site contains information that a school will need to plan, deliver and evaluate an effective one-to-one tuition programme. Further information can be found on the Teacher Development site and the DCSF site.
